This video was sent to me by a one of my students, and I liked the bouncy feel of it. Playing Blake is not easy, but you can do it with the right approach. Be kind and leave comments - thanks to Chris Freeman.

Cheers
Jim
I took a signature bass run from Doc Watson and used it in a version of Search The Desert by Willie McTell - freaky, I know!

Learn blues guitar

Keep on pickin',

Hi, thanks for your advise in singing and playing at the same time.

I do have the right technique but made the mistake to play to much from tab. Have to learn to play by ear'.

Why is the capo good for beginners?

I'm not sure that it is - best to follow your own instincts. Maybe it's best for you to not use the capo, unless you need to raise the tone to suit your voice.

Nice song! I find it very very hard to play and sing together. Do you have some advise in how to learn this?

Hi - you need a strategy for singing while finger picking. First of all, play the song until you can do it blindfold, in your sleep, etc. When you sing, concentrate on playing just the basic chord progression and the melody one with just one finger. When you've got that licked, the second finger and more complexity creeps in. Hope that helps.

Can you repost the full song done by the ABTs? It's hard to even find the lyrics to this one.

Hi - yep, you can find the link in the description.
